Zhongshang Commerce Tobacco Group Holds Pre-Departure Exchange Meeting for Zimbabwe Tobacco Cooperation Inspection

On July 18, 2025, Zhongshang Commerce Tobacco Co., Ltd. organized a pre-departure exchange meeting to discuss business cooperation in Zimbabwe, focusing on in-depth deliberations regarding collaboration with Zimbabwe’s Funo Corporation. Chairman Jianxin Zhang attended the meeting and delivered remarks, joined by Jiajun Liu and Jun Du—key members of the upcoming delegation—along with Beijing-based staff.

    The session began with an overview by the Corporate Development Department of the Headquarters on Zimbabwe’s tobacco industry landscape and cooperation background, followed by an in-depth study of the core content and critical aspects of the cooperation framework agreement. The meeting emphasized the objectives, tasks, and specific requirements for the inspection.  Jiajun Liu and Jun Du, as core delegates, led extensive discussions on mission targets, risk mitigation, cross-cultural communication, and international business practices.

    In his concluding address, Chairman Zhang highlighted that this cooperation represents a vital step in expanding international markets and advancing the Belt and Road Initiative. Centering on "Mission, Challenges, and Approaches," he urged the delegation to align their understanding, build consensus, and meticulously manage cooperation details with a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism. He further stressed strict adherence to diplomatic protocols, respect for local customs, and thorough research into Zimbabwe’s tobacco industry to lay a solid foundation for project implementation.

    Concluding the meeting, attendees extended their best wishes to the inspection team, encouraging them to uphold their mission, work diligently, ensure safety, and steadily advance negotiations with Phono Corporation to achieve the inspection objectives.
